A two-person exhibition of digital and print-based installations by Mary Claire Becker and Taryn McMahon
About This Show
"Hyperreal Landscape" is a two-person exhibition of digital and print-based installations by Mary Claire Becker, assistant professor of Art at Oklahoma State University and Taryn McMahon, associate professor of Art at Kent State University. Through reshaping and recontextualizing everyday depictions of the natural world from floral wallpaper to gardens, the artists reveal cultural, ecological, and anthropological attitudes embedded in images, objects, and spaces. This exhibition creates an immersive environment within the gallery that turns hyperreal landscapes — botanical gardens, decorative floral interiors, sublime landscape paintings — on their heads.
In light of ongoing health concerns, there will be no opening reception, but please register for the Zoom artist lecture at EventBrite.
