About This Show

Opening Reception: Thursday August 30, 6:00PM - 9:00PM with Lecture at 7:30PM

Retold: Drawing, Memory, and Narrative features the expressive drawings of Christopher Troutman. These large charcoal and ink works depict daily visual experiences in contemporary urban settings, inspired by his background living in both the US and Japan. Although his dynamic perspectives and narrative panels call to mind the fantastical elements of graphic novels, the subject matter reminds us that our everyday lives are worth exploration.

Christopher Troutman received his MFA from California State University and currently is an Assistant Professor of Art at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.
